Are you looking for Grammarly discounts for students? Then read this guide, as I will show How can you get a huge Grammarly Student Discount.
Whether you are finishing your project work, or submitting a paper or writing an email, having a proofreading software is always a lifesaver. And Grammarly is one of the most extensive and popular proofreading tools available on the internet.
There are two types of subscriptions. One is Free and the other is Paid. Paid plan comes with features like a Plagiarism checking and Advanced Grammar checking. These features are advantageous for students, and blog writers like us.
However, the premium plan is more expensive than other similar software. Indeed it has a reason. But you can easily get up to 46% discount by following the tricks mentioned below.
I want to be clear here. The method shown here is completely legitimate and is working in 2020. I myself have saved $65 with Grammarly’s annual Premium plan but it requires patience.
How Can You Get 46% Grammarly Student Discount?
In this section, I will show how anyone, whether a student or not, can avail huge discounts on Grammarly. There are several misleading articles and coupons available on the internet. Do not fall prey to them. The method, shown here, is genuine and I have given several proofs.
Step 1. Register for Grammarly’s Free plan by clicking here.
Step 2. Keep using Grammarly regularly. Free version is good enough to detect several common mistakes.
Step 3. Once you register, Grammarly will start sending you weekly performance report. Keep eyes on it. Below is a screenshot from my Gmail account. I found this mail on Gmail’s Promotions section.
Step 4. After a few days, you will see an offer at the bottom of your performance report. Don’t miss it as it will be valid for a limited time only.
Sometimes, you may even receive promotional email like the one shown below.
Step 5. Click on “Claim this Offer” or “Go Premium“to avail the discount instantly.
As you can see, it costs only $75 for an annual Premium subscription. This is a huge discount of 46% or $65. I bet, you won’t get a better deal than this.
I periodically get 46% discount and many of my readers have also availed this offer. So, if you want to share your experience you can email me at email@example.com.
Do You Really Need Grammarly Premium Plan?
Grammarly Premium is beyond any ordinary grammar checking tools. It helps you to write clear, engaging and professional English.
According to their official website, most of the premium users report stronger writing skills and I believe this is true.
It checks definitions and synonyms, rectifies more than 400 critical grammar and spelling rules and improves your writing style.
Readability analysis with Flesch Score checking is a unique feature of Grammarly. Suggestions provided by this tool can make your writing simple and engaging.
Get Vocabulary Enhancement suggestions, Genre-specific Writing Style checks, and access to Grammarly’s state-of-the-art Plagiarism Detection tool.
Plagiarism detector can check more than 16 billion web pages, which is a huge plus point of a Premium plan. It could be a lifesaver when you are writing an online article or a research paper.
Below I am covering an extensive review of Grammarly Premium for you.
But before that let’s have a side-by-side comparison of Free and Premium Subscription plans.
Is Grammarly Good for Students?
If you are a college student who writes regularly, it is a must-have tool for you. It can easily detect wrong words, spelling mistakes, awkward grammar errors, and incoherent writing style.
Grammarly editor is powered by Artificial Intelligence and is far better than any other editor available in the market. With all these features, there is no doubt that Grammarly is good for students.
However, the question is whether or not purchase the premium plan.
With the free plan, you get access to a web based editor and the browser plugin for Google Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge. This plugin integrates beautifully with Gmail, Microsoft Outlook, Facebook, Messenger, Yahoo Mail, WordPress and several other writing platforms.
As of today, it does not work with Google Docs and I believe it will not work in near future. As a writer, Google Docs is my go-to editor, and I feel neglected. To me, this is a huge drawback of Grammarly.
To understand the difference between the Free and the Premium plan, I copied a small text from my writing and pasted it in both the Free and the Premium editors. The text was 144 words long.
Below, I am sharing the screenshot from Grmmarly’s free editor.
As you can see, there are 7 Critical Issues detected by the editor. However, there are 6 Advanced Issues which have not been addressed. You have to upgrade your subscription to resolve these issues.
At this point, I was doubtful as the corrected copy looked good to me. I was thinking whether it was a legitimate suggestion or a marketing gimmick.
So, I reopened the same text in the Premium editor. Screenshot is given below.
As you can see, there are indeed 13 suggestions, including vocabulary suggestions and other alerts. Moreover, there is are tabs that show Flesch Reading Score and Overall Performance Score.
On the right bottom side there is a Plagiarism Detector that compares your article with a database of more than 16 billion online documents. This makes it virtually impossible to pass any plagiarism issue.
No doubt, with all these checks and corrections, my article looked better than what it was earlier.
Grammarly for Chrome
Grammarly for Chrome is a browser plugin for Google Chrome which makes Grammarly omnipresent on any writing platform. It integrates beautifully with Gmail, Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, Tumblr, WordPress, and many other writing platforms. Unfortunately, there is no support for Google Docs, which I use regularly.
You can keep the plugin active or muted. There is an option to show definitions and synonyms. I found this facility very helpful.
It often helps me to choose the appropriate word. Moreover, you can choose your writing preference in four different country genre, namely American, British, Canadian and Australian English.
Once you register for a plan, you start receiving weekly progress reports with Performance Statistics and Personalized Insights. One such screenshot is shown below.
You can use this report to gauge your performance.
Coming back to the main question, whether you should purchase a premium plan or not. My honest suggestion is “try Grammarly free for few days”. Upgrade when you receive the promotional email. This way you will save a huge.
Is Grammarly Free for Students?
Apart from a Free plan and web browser extensions, there is no such special free subscription for students. However, there is an Enterprise Plan for educational institutes. It is called Grammarly@edu. This program is designed to help teachers and students on a large scale.
Currently, there are more than thousand universities that support this program. Some of them are California State University, Illinois, University of Phoenix, and Arizona State University.
I tried to find out a list of such universities but could not find it online. So, go to your library and ask. Your university could also be a member of this program.
Does Grammarly Offer Student Discount?
There is no specific offer like “Grammarly Student Discount”. However, Grammarly offers discounts for all. Periodically they offer up to 50% discount, which is huge considering its price. I once received such deal during Cyber Monday. Here is a screenshot.
So, if you want to get almost similar deal you can follow my instructions. You won’t regret.
How Much Does Grammarly Cost for Students?
There are both Free and Premium plans. While the Free subscription offers limited facilities, Premium plan offers more than 400 Grammar Checks, Vocabulary Suggestions and Plagiarism Check facility. Below, I am showing them in details.
